 There's
no doubt about it, Care Bears have become big. Look anywhere from
the net to Target and they are there, smiling at you with their
fuzzy faces.
They
have invaded shelves and shirts, towns and suburbs, toy boxes, boy's
boxers and net auctions. Their symbols have been slapped upon so
many products (including the kitchen sink), that even the family
dog knows them by name. And this isn't the first time!
Long
ago, during a period that some might call the 1980's and other might
call the  fashion
nightmare, the Care Bears stepped shyly onto the trademark stage
and made such a scene that American Greeting's pocket books never
stopped laughing all the way to the bank. Since then, they have
sold millions of toys, books, clothes and anything big enough to
slap a logo on. They are the definite darlings of the decades.
 Now,
with all the sites dedicated to these colorful Care folks you might
be thinking to yourself "How could Angel-Bear-the-arrogant be so
bold as to think she could add something new to the scene?"
Well,
(as you cleverly noticed from the title) this site is different.
I have brushed aside the slush of plush mush and made room to spotlight
the most forgotten PVC and poseable plastic pieces! Now you must
be thinking: "What! How dare she forget the plush? Is she mad? Let's
go lynch her right now! Who's with me!?"
Now
before you light your torch and don your orange vest, please understand.
As  you
may read more about in the section "Meet
Angel," I received the whole set of Care Bear first-issued poseables
on my fourth birthday. Since then they have followed me through
the years from space to space and place to place. I have grown to
love them above all other toys. Oh sure, I had some plush bears,
but they most often were lost and forgotten in the vast community
of stuffed animals that lived in my Pet Net.
The
majority of collectors focus so much on the plush, the tiny, lovable
little ones drown in the sea of cotton mesh fur. Well, it is their
time to climb atop the mountain,
pull at a kiss curl and yell with all their polyvinyl vigor "It's
our turn! We want our own page!" You see then, I am only following
orders.
So
sit back, get cozy with your monitor, invite a friend, eat some
Oreos. Enjoy your browse
through the amazing world of mold-not-sewed wonders. With all The
Wal-Mart wandering, Collection Pondering, Hot topic stopping, garage
sale hopping, thrift store shopping, web site spotting you face
as a Care Bear collector, this site will be a breath of fresh bear.
