In 1986 Kenner was bought out by the Tonka Corporation for an undiclosed amount. The Kenner Corp. then became a subsidiary of Tonka, which already owned many other toy companies such as Parker Brothers.
When the acqusition was complete on October 16th, many of the companies planned toy lines for that year halted production. The goals of the company changed and therefore many of their previous plans died in the buy out. This has been a bane amoung Kenner toy collectors because many of their favorite toys never made it into the market, creating a huge desire to acquire the unreleased prototypes of this year.
A few of the Care Bear products planned were the three poseables shown below and their accessories. Fortunately the poseables made it far into the creation phase. Full production prototypes had already been made and possibly destributed to manufacturers for copying. A catalog featuring these poseables were printed but never distributed. See the Catalog scans here.
I own three of the four poseable prototypes. I am only missing Treat Heart Pig and the four cousin accessories that go with these poseables. I am prepared to pay for the items I want so if you have any please email me at poseableplace@hotmail.com.
I have compiled a great deal of pictures and information regarding these Poseables so please enjoy browsing below.
